The new Hercules and Love Affair album might not be due until January 2011, but to ensure your wait isn't too much to bear, frontman Andy Butler has launched a new record label, which will drop its first single later this month.
The new label is called mr.intl, and was designed specifically to release neo-classic dance music. According to Butler via a press release, "I don't want anything that sounds pre-'85 or post-'94."
In line with that aesthetic, Butler recorded the label's first single, "And I'm (So in Love With You)," with Detroit techno guru Jason Kendig on vintage equipment, circa 1992.
The song is streaming at Pitchfork for now, but will be available officially on August 30 from Beatport and on vinyl shortly thereafter.
Butler is also in the midst of planning a mr.intl tour, which will feature Hercules and Love Affair.
