Oakland stoner/doom/traditional metal bruisers High on Fire recently dropped the mighty Snakes for the Divine, and now they're going to bring their doggedly and admirably single-minded vision of all things riff-based across Canada with a spree of tour dates in July.
The band, who are doing some European dates opening for a little combo you may have heard of called Metallica, will be bringing along blackened thrash metal revivalists Skeletonwitch on the July Canadian tour.
Skeletonwitch released Breathing the Fire last year, and are currently on tour with death metal granddaddies Cannibal Corpse. They will also be appearing on this year's Ozzfest tour.
The High on Fire/Skeletonwitch tour will be a wonderful celebration of what makes metal so great: the sacred riff. The two together - at top volumes - will no doubt be something worth crawling out of the basement for.
