hollAnd

Drums

Trevor Kampmann's hollAnd project hits us with another EP, this time on his own pulCec label. hollAnd's candy-coated electro-pop continues to propel programmed beats and synth squelch into glorious melodies that flow alongside his biting lyrics. On Drums, the texture takes a turn for the raw while the songs remain prettier than ever and full of bubblegum hooks. Although the instrumentation is entirely electronic, aside from the vocals, Kampmann maintains that toasty warm analogue feel. It all encapsulates hollAnd's dexterity with sweet and sour ingredients, using the contrast to coax the best from both.
