Since releasing her debut full-length Movement in 2012, high-art electronic composer Holly Herndon has kept busy with myriad ancillary projects, including collaborations and stand-alone singles. Now, three years later, she's ready to unleash her second proper album.
The release is called Platform, and a press release says it "proposes new fantasies and rejuvenates old optimism," adding that it "signals Herndon's transformation as a composer and singular voice."
For the release, the Berlin-based performer opened up her collaborative circle, taking cues from design studio Metahaven and digital artist Mat Dryhurst (with whom she collaborated on the recent stand-alone piece "Recruit").
Platform will arrive on May 19 via RVNG Intl. and 4AD. Album opener "Interference" comes with a busy digital video that can be streamed below.
Platform:
1. Interference
2. Chorus
3. Unequal
4. Morning Sun
5. Locker Leak
6. An Exit
7. Lonely At The Top
8. DAD
9. Home
10. New Ways To Love
