"Everything Changes" (video)

Holy Data delivered their self-titled album last year, and now the Montreal-based band are ready to unveil some follow-up material.

"Everything Changes" marks the first in a series of upcoming singles that will be available for free download. Each track will arrive with a matching DIY video, and Exclaim! has your exclusive first look at the first one.

"The song is a reminder to myself of the irrefutable truth of its title: everything changes — not for you or me, just because it does," the band's Alex Cooper tells Exclaim! "The sentiment is as much resigned and defeated as it is angry and ready for action. It's sort of self-accusatory and self-forgiving all at the same time. Why should I blame myself if I never did anything wrong? What's a lie if nothing's real?"

The clip for "Everything Changes," meanwhile, captures the band riding bikes down a scenic country road in slow-motion. Midway through the black-and-white footage bursts into vibrant colour.

Despite the four upcoming stand-alone tracks, the band is in the midst of mixing their next full-length record. The band will also be playing a hometown show with Petra Glynt and Karneef at Sala Rossa tomorrow night (May 31). Find full details here.

For now, though, check out the new video for "Everything Changes" below.
