Late last year, Toronto outfit Hooded Fang announced plans to issue a new LP titled Gravez sometime in the spring, and the band have now confirmed the record arrives May 28 in Canada via Daps and on Full Time Hobby in the US and UK.
A press release notes that the 10-song set builds off the "spontaneous, lively, heavily splintered guitar sound" present on their 2011 effort Tosta Mista, though the new album apparently branches out with touches of '60s tropicália ("Wasteland"), psychedelia, the blues and more. You can sample the melodic yet full-throttle garage-rock title track via the stream down below.
"It's not called Gravez for any real reason but may refer to the impending lurk of death," singer/producer Dan Lee said in a statement. "Some of it is about instances in life, some of it general imagery, or nonsense."
The LP was recorded at a friend's studio and features demos tweaked in Lee's bedroom, and is also the first record to feature the current lineup of Lee, bassist April Aliermo, guitarist Lane Halley and drummer D.Alex Meeks.
Following the release of Gravez, Hooded Fang start a North American tour in London, ON, on May 29, with more Canadian stops scheduled in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC. You can check out the schedule down below.
