Toronto indie pop sensations Hooded Fang turned heads with the release of Album last year. The well-received record even landed the group a spot on the Polaris Music Prize long list, but they're already looking forward with the release of a sophomore album planned for next month.
The new release is called Tosta Mista, and a press release explains that the album "trades in one kind of fuzz for another: while songwriter Daniel Lee's keen sense of melody remains, Album's smooth harmonies and orchestrations have been swept away in a tide of scrappy, surf-influenced guitar work, 'verbed-out vocals and fully danceable '60s drum breaks, conjuring up images of sweaty patio parties and hot summer nights."
Tosta Mista will be available on July 26 via the band's own label Daps Records. Album tracks "ESP" and "Den of Love" can be streamed below.
