Horna

Envaatnags Eflos Solf Esgantaavne

Dirty, scratchy, and messy, Envaatnags Eflos Solf Esgantaavne starts out more or less the way any self-respecting underground black metal album should, but before long it becomes clear that Horna have also been stocking up on memorable riffs and catchy melodies. Yet even at its poppiest (relatively speaking), the album is jagged with eviscerating textures — this is still raw black metal here. Despite the mysticism of the album’s black and white cover, most of the sounds on Envaatnags Eflos Solf Esgantaavne have little to do with myth or magic, and its appropriately inaccessible lyrics can’t do much to belie that impression. It’s more like rock’n’ roll, black metal style.
