Dirty, scratchy, and messy, Envaatnags Eflos Solf Esgantaavne starts out more or less the way any self-respecting underground black metal album should, but before long it becomes clear that Horna have also been stocking up on memorable riffs and catchy melodies. Yet even at its poppiest (relatively speaking), the album is jagged with eviscerating textures this is still raw black metal here. Despite the mysticism of the albums black and white cover, most of the sounds on Envaatnags Eflos Solf Esgantaavne have little to do with myth or magic, and its appropriately inaccessible lyrics cant do much to belie that impression. Its more like rockn roll, black metal style.
