Last month, UK electro-pop stalwarts Hot Chip released their latest album, One Life Stand. The record, their fourth, had us noticing a "departure from the self-conscious and ironic musings" that had characterized their previous work, instead focusing on "vulnerability through calculated ruminations."
It's the sort of progression that would be ideal in a live setting, which is why it's nice to see that Hot Chip will be gracing the world with a large tour. As previously reported, the dates, which kick off this weekend in Europe, also include a North American run of shows with the XX. That leg of the tour will include an epic stop in Toronto on April 20. Besides their show at the Koolhaus, Hot Chip's one night stand in Toronto will also include a DJ set at the Wrongbar.
And just to get you a little more excited about the dates, Hot Chip have announced that One Life Stand standout "I Feel Better" will get a single release on April 20 via Astralwerks. Along with the album version there will be remixes by Richard X, Den Haan and Ill Blu.
