Hot Chip Reveal Release Details for 2010 Full-Length

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Nov 10, 2009

Following some new-album rumblings earlier this month, the UK's much-loved Hot Chip have confirmed that they are returning in 2010 with a new full-length album. Via a press release, the band revealed the new studio album will have the clever title One Life Stand and will be due out in North America on February 9 via Astralwerks (and a day earlier in the UK on Parlophone).

If you want to listen to the PR, the album is "a full-blooded leap into the unknown, an album that is awash with Hot Chip's trademark creative bravery and a searing emotional intensity from first track to last," and the band's "most complete work to date." The release goes on to say the influences range from soul music, modern R&B, northern soul and gospel to Arthur Russell, Prince and Theo Parish.

At this point, there is no tracklisting or album art, but we do know Charles Hayward of '70s experimenters This Heat guests on the record, as does the Invisible's Leo Taylor. Also, like Hot Chip's last album, 2007's Made in the Dark, the new record will come as a deluxe edition that will feature a bonus DVD. You can order a signed copy of that version here on Hot Chip's website.

Hot Chip promise that several North American and European tour dates will go down next year, but for now, they only have a string of shows in the UK, which you can check out here
