Our Work and Why We Do It features intricate, off-kilter pop music. Hot Little Rocket weaves taut instrumentation and inventive arrangements to fashion harmonious tunes, displaying an impressive development since the release of their previous record, Danish Documentary, in 2001. Much to their credit, the band expertly fuses the complexities of math rock with the tunefulness of indie pop to create a compelling sound. Our Work and Why We Do It consistently conveys well-crafted, melodic songs.
