We've known for a while that Chicago-based indie R&B auteur How to Dress Well (aka Tom Krell) was readying the follow-up to his 2010 debut LP Love Remains, and finally we're getting some more solid info about the album.
A press release informs us that the record will be called Total Loss and will arrive sometime this fall through Acéphale in North America (Weird World will handle the album's international release). A proper tracklisting has yet to be unveiled, but a sneak peek of Total Loss has come via a stream of album track "Ocean Floor for Everything," which you can check out at the bottom of the page.
Krell had previously explained that the upcoming LP is "A testament to the power of naive sentiment, the importance of vulnerable wistfulness, and to the rarity of bliss."
As previously reported, Krell will be teaming with Vancouver musicians Cameron Reed (aka Babe Rainbow) and Aaron Read to perform songs new and old for some upcoming dates in the U.S. and Canada. The group is currently jamming on the West Coast to prep for the gigs, which you can see outlined in the itinerary down below.
Tour dates:
6/5 New York, NY - TBA
6/7 Toronto, ON - The Drake
6/8 Montreal, QC - Il Motore
6/9 Brooklyn, NY - Public Assembly
6/13 Vancouver, BC - Waldorf Hotel
6/14 Portland, OR - Holocene
6/15 San Francisco, CA - Rickshaw Stop
