Following some production work on last year's Cruel Summer LP, Glasgow beatmaker Hudson Mohawke (aka Ross Birchard) has now reportedly joined Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music fold. The announcement was made today (January 17) through the producer's UK management team, United Management.
"Yooooo congratulations to @HudMo for signing on as a G.O.O.D. Music producer with boss fella @kanyewest !!!" the company's Simon White tweeted.
A follow-up email to FACT apparently confirmed the inking, with White acknowledging that Mohawke "signed to Very GOOD Beats as a producer this week."
Very GOOD Beats is only the production component of G.O.O.D. Music, and Mohawke himself has yet to confirm the news.
UPDATE: FACT now reports that Mohawke will remain with Warp for all his artist releases, so it looks as if he'll just be working with G.O.O.D. as a producer for some of their projects.
UPDATE 2: Following this story, Mohawke tweeted, "Everyone stop announcing shit pls, nothing to announce on the subject til you hear it from the horses mouth."
Birchard delivered the beat for Cruel Summer cut "Bliss" on his own, but also made contributions to "The One," "To the World" and mega-hit "Mercy."
