Hushtones

What I'd give to have the confidence that the Hushtones do. Even if they aren't doing anything that revolutionary, I'm pretty sure they think they're changing the world. There's something in the way they compose themselves that just screams ego, a trait that isn't necessarily justified but is certainly entertaining to listen to. I can just picture them in the studio trying to get the right guitar sound for that "bitchin' intro" or "rippin' solo," meticulously stressing over parts that don't deserve the attention they probably received. The results are far less satisfying than the appearance of effort implies, coming off as a second-rate Big Sugar more often than not. But really, who am I to stand in their way? As long as they're self-assured, haters like myself will be left behind on their way to the top.
