Iceage Offshoot War Lines Up 7-inch for Sacred Bones

Copenhagen hardcore unit Iceage's heady New Brigade spiced up the punk game last year, but frontman/guitarist Elias Bender Rønnenfelt is taking a bit of a breather from his main gig to offer up a seven-inch from side-project War.

A press release from Sacred Bones, who will release the vinyl platter February 21, explains that War is a duo composed of Rønnenfelt and Sexdrome singer/Posh Isolation co-runner Loke Rahbek that mashes punk ethos with a multitude of different styles. The three-song seven-inch apparently pulls from lo-fi post-punk as much as it does Chicago house and was recorded by the pair in a basement onto a four-track last summer using "analog synth, pedals, drums and guitars."

You can stream the especially blown-out club number "Brodermordet," which is said to centre on the fratricide-imbued tale of Cain and Abel, over at Pitchfork.

On top of the standard edition, a limited pressing of 150 hand-numbered copies will come in a sealed envelope with a wax stamp. Pre-orders for either version are being taken here.
