illuminati hotties' "777" Is a Slow-Motion Montage

For self-described "tender punk" peddler Sarah Tudzin a.k.a. illuminati hotties, the standalone single "777" represents a vibe shift. While she retains some of her signature scrappy sweetness, this is full-blown alt-rock, with a meaty throwback sound akin to '90s revivalists like Momma or Bachelor. (Not coincidentally, Bachelor's Melina Duterte a.k.a. Jay Som has a co-production credit here.)

Like many classics of genre, such as "Cannonball" or "1979," it feels like a slow-motion montage, a hazy half-remembered daydream of a misspent youth in the suburbs.
