As previously reported, Mark T. Smith of Explosions in the Sky has teamed up with ambient whiz Matthew Cooper of Eluvium to form the new duo Inventions. Ahead of their self-titled debut, they've shared new song "Entity."
The track sounds basically exactly like you'd think, offering emotive synths, gentle glitches and ethereal vocals. It's more Eluvium than Explosions, however — where the latter would eventually erupt into marching band drums, this song opts to ebb and flow with layers of ambience instead.
