When Iron & Wine first announced the new vault-exploring compilation album Archive Series Volume No. 1, the songwriter known as Sam Beam also promised that a short film called Dreamers and Makers Are My Favorite People would be on the way soon. Now that the album has been out for a few weeks, the film has also arrived.
The half-hour film focuses on Iron & Wine's performance at West Virginia's rural Jerry Run Theater, where Beam played a solo set of songs from the compilation.
This intimate performance footage is intercut with interviews with the man himself, as he discusses the origins of his music career and how he came to make the comp's hushed four-track recordings. There's also some background information about the unique venue.

Archive Series Volume No. 1 is out now on Beam's own Black Cricket Recording Co.
