Information has been emerging slowly about Iron & Wine's upcoming new LP. First, it was given the name Kiss Each Other Clean, and then it was revealed that it would be coming out via Warner. Next, band leader Sam Beam described the record as "early to mid-'70s FM, radio-friendly music." Now, we finally have the full release details.
The disc will be out on January 25, confirming reports that it would be out in early 2011. While the North American release will be handled by Warner, 4AD will be releasing it internationally. You can see the ten-song tracklist below.
To whet our appetites even more, Beam & co. have unveiled a brief trailer for Kiss Each Other Clean. It has some animated line drawing, as well as a short clip of a new song, which is driven by lush vocal harmonies. Based on this teaser, it looks as if the songwriter's description of the album as sounding like '70s pop was a good one. See it at the bottom of this page.
Looking for the single "Walking far from Home" to come out on November 26 as a part of Record Store Day's Black Friday celebration.
Iron and & Wine has an extensive tour schedule planned, although there are no dates in Canada. If you happen to be in the U.S. or Europe between now and March, you might want to check out the schedule by scrolling past the tracklist.
