On Tuesday (June 12), the late J Dilla will be celebrated with a posthumous release called The Rebirth of Detroit. Before the album drops via Dilla's mother Ma Dukes and her Ruff Draft imprint, however, we get another taste of the project with "Detroit Game."
Strengthened by appearances from Chuck Inglish and Boldy James, the cut is a nice little slab of weird bass and soulful boom bap. If this track is any indication, The Rebirth of Detroit will be a worthy entry into the Dilla canon.
