Hip-hop great J Dilla passed away a decade ago, but there's been no shortage of posthumous material from the late beatmaker in the years since then. The latest archival cut to see the light of day is "Gangsta Boogie," featuring Snoop Dogg and Kokane.
The song features Detroit-alluding lyrics from Dilla, and Snoop drops by for a substantial guest verse in which he declares, "Still in the mother fucking place to be." All this is anchored by deeply funky, swaggering beat from producer Hi-Tek.
"Gangsta Boogie" comes from Dilla's long-lost vocal album The Diary, due out on April 15 through Mass Appeal Records.
