As of Sunday (March 15), there have been more than 1,800 deaths in Italy as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and not unlike its locked-down citizens, Dinosaur Jr.'s J Mascis has shared a musical performance in tribute to the country.
"In solidarity to Bella Italia and all the docs, nurses and healthcare workers. Singing & Playing music at 6 pm.," Mascis wrote on Facebook. "This is an old chant for world peace and happiness.....Om Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu....."

Late last year, Mascis and his Dinosaur Jr. bandmates hit the studio to work on a follow-up to 2016's Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not. The frontman's most recent solo album was 2018's Elastic Days.
