Involved in creating a distinctive free-jazz hybrid, the band sustains a singular sonic barrage most notably in the sustained tribal grooves of "Michigan Avenue Social Club" that runs almost 25 minutes. This circular drone builds with mantra-like intensity and brings to a climax a diverse set of strategies that range from the dense post-industrial free form intensity of "Analogue Skillet" to the slow lyrical pulse of "Native Einstein," the astonishing dirge ballad "Beautiful September" and an astonishing version of "Amazing Grace" that takes abstract lyricism into utterly fresh dimensions. This musical gem is waiting to be discovered and cherished.
