Megadeth's set list has become fairly standardized over the years, and this summer's Heavy MTL performance was no departure — just a couple of new selections added from 2013 release Super Collider. Dave Draiman (Device, ex-Disturbed) chimed in on one of the newer tracks, but otherwise it was mostly standard-issue Megadeth, with Symphony of Destruction getting the most attention. Of course, they played the marginally bilingual "Tout le Monde" with a special nod to their Quebecois fans. Performance-wise, the songs, thankfully, lose little from repetition, and if Mustaine's vocals were a little more slurred this time around, they were also a little less whiny. The band brought out mascot Vic Rattlehead to greet the fans during "Peace Sells" and then, after a short pause, wrapped up with "Holy Wars… Punishment Due" along with a final credits slideshow to identify not just the band but the full tour crew. It was both a nice gesture and a signal that one more Gigantour has come to a close.
