A documentary paying tribute to one of hip-hop's greatest DJs, Jam Master Jay, is set to premiere tonight at the Hollywood Black Film Festival, which runs from today until June 8. Titled Two Turntables and a Microphone, the film tells the life and untimely death of Jason Mizell, aka Jam Master Jay,
and features appearances by Reverend Run, Russell Simmons, Jay-Z, LL Cool J and 50 Cent.
According to the press release, "Two Turntables and a Microphone documents the investigation of the unsolved murder of Jam Master Jay, RUN-DMCs groundbreaking DJ and producer, deftly revealing the history of hip-hop and mainstream rap along the way. Exclusive, candid interviews with Jay-Z, Russell Simmons, RUN DMC, Method Man and more offer insight into Jam Master Jays life including information that could finally help police solve the murder that shook the music world to its core."
