We've long known that Mick Jagger is producing an upcoming biopic about James Brown, and now that flick has its leading man: Chadwick Boseman.
Boseman already has experience playing an iconic role in a high-profile biopic, since he is perhaps most widely recognized for starring as baseball trailblazer Jackie Robinson in the recent film 42.
The last time we checked in on this biopic, The Help director Tate Taylor was in talks to helm the picture. His involvement has since been confirmed; he's producing along with Imagine's Brian Grazer and Erica Huggins, plus Victoria Pearman and, of course, Mick Jagger.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that the project has been in the works for over a decade. Eddie Murphy was apparently in talks to star at one point. Now the film finally seems to be coming to fruition, since Time reports that filming will begin in Mississippi this fall.
