Jamie Lee Curtis is tired. Maintaining a healthy gut flora with all that probiotic-laden Activia yogurt can only get you so far, so the actor is issuing a humble request to rockstars everywhere: please consider embracing the matinee.

Sure, it's the principle of the thing, but Curtis also named names when it comes to the, uh, mature musicians with enough star power to pull off an afternoon gig — which would enable their likewise mature fans to get to bed at a reasonable time.

In a recent red carpet interview with The Hollywood Reporter at the Film Independent Spirit Awards, she called upon U2, Coldplay and the Boss himself, Bruce Springsteen, to start doing some afternoon performances.

"I am gonna just say this now as a taunt and as a suggestion. U2: do a matinee. Coldplay: do a matinee," Curtis proposed. (Coldplay and "matinee" even rhyme!) "What about a 12 noon concert, Coldplay? What about it?"

"Bruce Springsteen: do a fucking matinee! You're old!" the actor continued, not mincing words — and one must admit, the logic here is pretty bulletproof.

She questioned, "Why wouldn't you let me come see you, Bruce Springsteen, in your glory days — pun intended — and do it at noon or 1 o'clock? 2 o'clock! 2 o'clock matinee! Theatre in New York, 2 o'clock!"

"I will come and hear your five-hour concert, Bruce, at 2 o'clock, and I'm gonna be home and in bed by 7:30," Curtis concluded, deftly aware of her own sound judgment. You heard the woman!

Springsteen & the E Street Band will be bringing their tour behind 2022's aptly titled Only the Strong Survive to Canada this fall, and those who make it to the end of the show before surrendering to honks, shoos and mimimimimis are truly the strongest survivors.
