Janelle Monáe still hasn't delivered the reportedly "jamming" follow-up to 2010's The ArchAndroid she started prepping in 2011, but it looks as if that long wait is about to be over. She is apparently set to release a new album called The Electric Lady, and we'll get a new single from the futuristic R&B singer by the end of the month.
Monáe delivered news via an animated gif on her website that has her scrawling out a to-do list. Namely, she notes she has to release a new song called "Q.U.E.E.N.," which is apparently a collaboration with neo-soul favourite Erykah Badu. After we see Monáe shut her notebook, the gif advertises that the song is due April 22 at 7:54 pm EST.
That's all the info we have for now, but keep your fingers crossed that the single is the first of many songs to appear off the long-gestating follow-up before its TBA due date.
