Jawbox's J. Robbins and Death Cab's Chris Walla Team Up for New Song

Besides their impending reunion on Jimmy Fallon, Washington, DC post-hardcore legends Jawbox have also lent the talents of front-man J. Robbins to another American media outlet: NPR. As part of the ongoing Project Song series, Robbins teamed up with Death Cab for Cutie's Chris Walla to write and record a new track.

As it usually happens in the feature, the two musicians were given some words and photo collages to work with for their collaboration. Robbins and Walla chose the word "cerebral" and this photo of a sinking house, and recorded the song "Mercury" in two days.

There's a pretty detailed chronicle of the song's inception here. And if you'd like to hear the song, you can also stream the song on NPR as well.
