Jay Reatard

Jay Reatard is a really nice guy. Just a genuinely good dude. His relationship with Toronto has become oddly legendary (punching a guy at the Silver Dollar, walking off stage after ten songs at Wrongbar), but his behavior has always been pretty reasonable (douchebags in the crowd and unfixable gear problems, respectively). Still, he’s become the kind of guy that people try to attach these types of outlandish rock ‘n’ roll stories to. It’s kind of a shame. But he’s awesome, and I don’t think he cares too much. Except when it makes him KICK DUDES IN THE FACE WHICH RULES.

This interview happened early in the day before Jay’s Sonic Boom in-store. He was nice. We had a pleasant time. We hope he gets really famous and remembers us.
