Once again, Jay Reatard is prepping another return to the Great White North. Come June, the garage rock posterboy will brave the border to bring his live show to a trio of Canadian cities - Vancouver (June 16), Toronto (June 29) and Montreal (June 30) - as well as make the rounds in the U.S.
This bit of summer live action follows the recent relaunch of Reatard's Shattered Records label, which, as previously reported, is now selling basically everything the guy has ever recorded. The imprint is also still prepping its Shattered Single Series, which will be made up of six digital singles/limited-edition seven-inches by artists like Chris Knox, Box Elders and Nobunny, and the label's Shattered Records Club, a $75 package that includes goodies such as exclusive seven-inches, all six Single Series releases and an expanded edition of Reatard's new comp, Greatest Messes.
There's still no word on a firm release date for Reatard's first proper Matador full-length but it's supposedly in the works and should arrive sometime after this tour in August.
