In news that doesn't surprise us in the least, Jay Reatard's band have parted ways with the notorious garage pop hothead. In a Twitter post, Reatard writes: "Band quit! Fuck them! They are boring rich kids who can't play for ahit anyways... Say hello to your ugly and boring wifes opps I mean lifes guys suck it."
According to Pitchfork, the Reatard camp has confirmed that bassist Stephen Pope and drummer Billy Hayes have indeed quit the band. No reason was given for the split but apparently Reatard is already on the lookout for a new group.
As previously reported, Reatard is currently in the midst of a North American tour in which he recently played Pop Montreal, and soon he will be heading over to Europe for several shows. As of yet, no dates have been cancelled.
