Jazz Cartier

"Opera"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 13, 2016

The current run of The Phantom of the Opera at the Toronto Theatre has seemingly inspired Jazz Cartier to churn out a gothic boomer for our benefit. From the cellar to your eardrums, his "Opera" is streaming now.

A sinister swell of strings and a clanging digi-bell lead off the track, ahead of Cartier bragging about fuckin' up some commas. With an AutoTuned twist, he goes on to detail his rise through the ranks and how he's become the new face of the country. As far as we can tell, he hasn't become so with a half-mask obscuring his natural beauty.

You'll find the Lantz-produced track below, courtesy of Billboard. An interview they did with the rapper also notes that he's been working out in L.A. with mega producer Mike WiLL Made-It, though it's as-yet-unclear when the music will surface.
