Jens Lekman loves summer. Seriously, he does. For the past several years, he has greeted the season with summer mixtapes, and this year is no different.
Over on the Smalltalk section of his website, the Swede has given us Summer in 3/4 Time. You can download it here or listen to a stream below.
Lekman explains that his inspiration for this particular summer mix came from remixing Au Revoir Simone's "Shadows" from 4/4 to 3/4, saying of the latter time signature, "It was all a big swirl. After a while I heard it everywhere. In soul ballads, in polyrhythmical african pop, in old movies. In the ocean waves tumbling in against the shore, in the beat of a lovers heart. One two three, one two three..."
A big thanks for TwentyFourBit for the tip.
