Three years on from her Souled Out debut, Jhené Aiko has returned with surprise follow-up TRIP.

Arriving today (September 22) through Def Jam/ARTiumTRIP runs 22 tracks in length and features appearances from Big Sean, Swae Lee, Kurupt, Brandy, Mali Music, Dr. Chill and Aiko's daughter, Namiko Love. Production comes from Dot da Genius, Fisticuffs, No I.D., Key Wane, Amaire Johnson, Frank Dukes, Benny Blanco, Cashmere Cat and Mike Zombie.

The album is said to take listeners through a "unique odyssey of love and loss, heartbreak and discovery" that Aiko has experienced over the past decade. TRIP was recorded over the course of four years in her native Los Angeles. The album also arrives alongside a short film of the same name, which Aiko wrote and directed alongside Tracy Oliver. You can find it in the player at the bottom of the page.

"In sharing this… I hope to inspire others to share their own mistakes, imperfections and fears," Aiko wrote in a statement. "I believe in doing so we can understand each other better and realize we are more alike than different… I hope to inspire others to share their grief and pain because I believe suffering can be alleviated when we understand we are not going through any of it alone."
