Given his prolific output throughout his lengthy career, it's no surprise that East Coast hero Joel Plaskett has plenty of rare material waiting in the archives. Now, the songwriter is getting ready to roll out some of the lost gems of his post-Thrush Hermit career on a new B-sides compilation, which sports the lengthy title EMERGENCYs, false alarms, shipwrecks, castaways, fragile creatures, special features, demons and demonstrations.
The collection contains a whopping 20 tracks, which range from demos of familiar songs to a smattering of non-LP tracks. It stretches from material recorded around the time of Thrush Hermit's 1999 breakup to lost cuts from his 2009 solo opus, Three.
The collection will be available as a digital download or as a 12-song vinyl record. This wax comes with a bonus CD containing the full 20-track collection. A press release reports that this will be Joel's first exclusive release on his New Scotland Records when it drops on June 14.
