John Frusciante and Omar Rodríguez-López Release Second Collaborative Record

BY Stephen CarlickPublished May 31, 2010

Less than a month after John Frusciante and Mars Volta guitarist Omar Rodríguez-López put out their first collaborative effort, the pair have already released yet another free record.

We mentioned the duo would compose another album later this year, and though we had no idea it would come about so quickly, it's hardly a surprise, given Frusciante's prolificness since leaving the Chili Peppers.

On this second LP, Frusciante and Rodríguez-López are joined by Marcel Rodríguez-López (Omar's younger brother), and Juan Alderete De La Peña, who contribute to the eight-part, instrumental set the foursome has called Sepulcros De Miel.

The album, proceeds from which will benefit the Keep Music In Schools program, is available right now as a pay-what-you-want download here.

Or, you could wait until tomorrow (June 1) and order the vinyl. Your call.
