Jordan Klassen

"Sweet Chariot" on Exclaim! TV

BY Matthew RitchiePublished Apr 8, 2014

Rising folk-pop artist Jordan Klassen first hinted at his sophomore LP, Repentance, way back in 2011, but it took nearly two years for it to ever see the light of day. With all that waiting, it should come as no surprise that the up-and-coming singer-songwriter has spent the better part of the year on the road in support of his latest LP. Exclaim! TV was lucky enough to meet up with Klassen at his label Nevado Records' home office while on a stopover in Toronto to hear a stripped down rendition of album opener "Sweet Chariot," which you can find by scrolling to the bottom of the page.

While it may not sound as symphonic as the original, watch as Klassen and his backing two-piece drive the song forward with nothing more than a xylophone and their own rhythmic vocals, followed by an anthemic crescendo courtesy of Klassen and his ukulele.
