Even when not transitioning into song, Josh Martinez still comes off as one of the most melodic of MCs despite the occasional cracking of his smooth vocals. For The World Famous Sex Buffet, Martinez invites along some of his fellow melodic rappers, like Pigeon John, Devin the Dude, Moka Only and Awol One - the last a bit of a disappointment, providing only a few adlibs on "Struts" - as well as Evil, Sleep, Classified and the turntable antics of Skratch Bastid. Together they brag, boast and belittle themselves, and amongst all of that J-Mart finds time to recognize the comedy talent in Canada ("Jokes Yo!") and drop an ode to his hometown with Classified ("Going Back to Hali"). Backed by beats from Gordski, mcenroe, Pale Soul, Smoke, Class and a few others, The World Famous Sex Buffet is smooth, groovy and fun. Let's hope the rumours are false and The World Famous Sex Buffet, possibly his best album since Buck Up, Princess, isn't really his final solo album.
