Winnipeg singer-songwriter JP Hoe released his Mannequin LP a year ago now, but he will continue to promote it in the coming weeks. Not only is he premiering a live performance video for the album cut "Conversation," but he has a number of Canadian tour dates scheduled for this summer.
Many of these gigs are in the Manitoba troubadour's home province, but he'll also be making excursions to Alberta and Ontario. The bulk of the shows are festival gigs, and he'll also make appearances in unusual locales around his hometown, including the Winnipeg Art Gallery, the Royal Canadian Mint, and the Cube in Old Market Square. See the schedule below.
Speaking of the Winnipeg Art Gallery, that's where Hoe filmed his new performance video for "Conversation." We see him clutching an acoustic guitar and strumming the waltz-time ballad while accompanied by a cellist and a violinist. The performance is entirely unplugged — he doesn't even use a microphone — and this adds to the intimate mood.
