American folk icon Judy Collins is returning with her 29th album Spellbound — her first collection consisting entirely of original material — at age 82, after 60 years of recording.

While she's penned originals before, including "Since You Asked" from her seminal 1967 album Wildflowers to answer a challenge from Leonard Cohen [via Billboard], the storied musician is perhaps better known for her definitive interpretations of the work of other writers — like Cohen himself, as well as Stephen Sondheim, Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan.

Led by the picturesque single "When I Was a Girl in Colorado," the forthcoming collection of songs written by Collins is due February 25.

"They say after the plague came the renaissance," she said in the album's announcement. "Now felt like the perfect time to make this record because, after all that's happened in the world, we need something beautiful and inspirational to lift us up."
