Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas has some solo works planned, since he's doing a soundtrack in addition to teasing a mysterious project called Voidz. Now, he's contributed music to a short documentary called The Unseen Beauty, which is about his stepfather, artist Sam Adoquei.
Casablancas's contribution consists of a mellow keyboard motif over which he sings some quiet background melodies. In other words, it's not an anthem on par with the Strokes' best works, but it's a very pleasant and pretty little tune.
The documentary — which previously screened at a number of film festivals — is below [via Stereogum]. The song starts around the seven-minute mark.
The music for the film is credited to Casablancas and Simon Taufique.
