June 7 Named Julie Doiron Day in Bruno, Saskatchewan

While it's not a big secret that a whole lot of Canadians love their Julie Doiron, the folks over in Bruno, Saskatchewan apparently really, really love the soft-voiced songbird. In fact, the residents of this tiny village of 600 are so taken by the Eric's Tripper that they've officially named June 7 Julie Doiron Day.

Following a recent sold-out show at local artist centre All Citizens, the mayor of Bruno made the announcement, honouring Doiron with her very own special day in the village and presenting her with a bench. By the looks of things, Doiron was quite surprised by the whole event, and we're guessing she's quite taken by the star treatment as well.
