After a five-year wait, Hamilton electro outfit Junior Boys are set to follow up their 2011 record It's All True. The two-piece are finally set to unleash Big Black Coat next week, but you can hear the forthcoming full-length in its entirety a week early.
Returning to work on Junior Boys music after stints as a solo artist and producer for Jessy Lanza, Jeremy Greenspan previously described the process of making the new record as a "liberating and invigorating" one.
"I was really happy with the last two Junior Boys albums," he said in a press release. "But if I look back on it, they were challenging records to make, in a way that this one absolutely wasn't."
Now, you can hear the resulting 10-song effort for yourself. Big Black Coat is officially out on February 5 via the band's own GEEJ imprint in Canada (and City Slang everywhere else). Give it an advanced listen in the player below, courtesy of NPR.
