Last month, Justin Timberlake was arrested for a DUI, and the internet exploded with memes — how's that world tour going?
Whether we should be having this much fun with someone's drunk driving arrest is still up in the air, but regardless, it seems that Timberlake's arrest still has some cultural legs. Now, the singer's mugshot has been transformed into a piece of Warhol-esque pop art by artist Godfrey Lohman.
Titled "Tuesday Night Out Featuring Justin Timberlake," the piece is on display at the Romany Kramoris Gallery in Sag Harbor, NY.
"My reaction was, 'Oh my God! That's great! It's just great!'" gallery owner Romany Kramoris told Page Six after seeing Lohman's work for the first time. The gallery has apparently sold "two or three" of the pieces, which cost a hefty $520 USD. Who said art is dead!
Sag Harbor is where Timberlake was out drinking the night he was arrested, having been stopped on suspicion of driving in an "intoxicated condition" after he allegedly failed to stop at an intersection stop sign. The singer — whose most recent album Everything I Thought I Was came out in March — was arraigned on a single misdemeanour charge of DWI and released on his own recognizance.
