K-os and Dragonette Face Off in Red Bull Soundclash at Calgary Stampede

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jun 9, 2011

The Calgary Stampede is guaranteed to be a crazy party, and Red Bull has put together a fittingly outlandish show for the occasion. Called the Red Bull Soundclash, it will take place on July 10 at the WildHorse Saloon Tent and feature Canadian rapper K-os and electro pop band Dragonette performing at the same time to the same audience.

A press release describes the show as a "musical conversation" that's "less a competition, more a creative collaboration." Performing on opposite stages in the same venue, each act will perform a series of "musical challenges." It sounds like a pretty outrageous concept.

Although the rapper and the band will be attempting to one-up each other in the challenges, "The ultimate aim of the event is not to win, but rather to have both artists exchange musical ideas, enabling a good time by all."

If you're as curious about this idea as we are, then Stampede attendees will want to check this one out. Tickets go on sale exactly one month before the event, on June 10. Get yours over at Prime Box Office.
