Kacy & Clayton Announce Jeff Tweedy-Produced Album 'Carrying On'

The duo will tour with Ray LaMontagne later this year

Canadian folk duo Kacy & Clayton will release a new album titled Carrying On, which is due out October 4 via New West Records. Right now, though, you can hear the new song "The Forty-Ninth Parallel."

The album was produced by Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy and recorded in Chicago at Wilco's recording studio and rehearsal space, the Loft.

"When I first heard Kacy & Clayton, I was struck by how much detail and nuance they had absorbed from what sounded like a large swath of my record collection," Tweedy said in a statement. "When I told them that they were as good as the artists they were drawing from, I'm not sure they believed me. On this record I don't hear those influences as much as I hear them taking the things they love so intimately and telling their own story. I think they're a truly great band."

See the tracklisting for Carrying On below. Beyond that, hear the record's opening track and first single, "The Forty-Ninth Parallel." It arrives with a video that was shot in the duo's home province of Saskatchewan.
