With his backing band blurring the lines between jam bands, soul and hip-hop, Kae Sun incited a hip assortment at the Supermarket to get down for the close of a relatively quiet evening in Kensington. After starting off slowly, seemingly echoing around the heads of a lazy crowd, bassist Steve DiPiante and guitarist Mike Brooks engaged in some call and response with Kae and keyboardist Fraser Charles that got a vibe groovin’ not long into the set. Closer “Angel/Criminal” is enough to make you yearn for the upcoming release of their first EP.
