Last week, Kanye West released an extremely alarming claymation video for his Donda 2 song "Eazy," which depicted him beheading a figure resembling Pete Davidson and planting a rosebush on his buried remains. Now, Ye has deleted the video and released a statement claiming that the video doesn't constitute a threat against his ex-wife Kim Kardashian's rumoured boyfriend.
On Instagram, he shared a still from the video (depicting a burning house) and wrote the following caption:
Art is therapy just like this view
art is protected as freedom of speech
art inspires and simplifies the world
Art is not a proxy for any ill or harm.
Any suggestion otherwise about my art is false and mal intended 🖤
He never directly mentions Davidson, but the post seems to be suggesting that his "Eazy" video was simply artistic impression and not a credible threat against his ex-wife and her boyfriend. One can imagine that this video probably won't help Ye's case in any custody disputes that might ensue.
Ye has taken the "Eazy" video down from his Instagram page and it's not on any of his official channels. It's still on the Game's YouTube channel, however.
