Karen O Readies "Psycho-Opera" for the Creators Project

Aside from her work with New York avant-pop institute the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Karen O's solo work has become increasingly intriguing in recent years. Following her excellent Where the Wild Things Are soundtrack and subsequent Jackass contribution "If You're Gonna Be Dumb, You Gotta Be Tough," the artist's next plan is described as a "psycho-opera."

While details remain scarce, Karen O reportedly teamed up with the Creators Project to produce the work. The project is described as "an assault on the tragic joys of youth, directed by Adam Rapp and produced by the studio."

For now, that's all we know about the project, but the Creators Project will debut the event in October at New York's St. Ann's Warehouse. Leading up to then, they'll make more announcements and revelations, hopefully going as far as to define "psycho-opera."
